Las Madres supports the Black Infant Health Program by coming together and donating goods valued at $3300 to help Set up a Lending LIbrary

This summer Las Madres supported Black Infant Health (BIH) of Santa Clara County with an initiative they were working on.

BIH seeks to: 

- Empower women, build resilience, and reduce stress
- Promote healthy behaviors to support health, wellness, and relationships 
- Promote healthy relationships, and enhance bonding and parenting skills 
- Connect women with medical, social, and mental health services 
- Engage communities to raise awareness and support BIH efforts to improve outcomes for Black women and their families 

BIH wanted to start a lending library for baby and toddler supplies and Las Madres committed to help them get that started!

By donating our gently used items, making a financial donation or purchasing items on a registry; our members have helped Black mothers that are part of BIH.

We had a goal of $1500 to help buy 10 baby carriers for a Black Infant Health lending library and other birth or infant materials that BIH needs from the registry.  BUT we vastly exceeded that goal and 141 items ($3,296.03 value) were donated!
