About Our Playgroups
Playgroups
- The Las Madres Neighborhood Playgroups are the heart of our organization. Our playgroups are organized by year of the child's birth and then by geographic area.
What Happens in a Playgroup?
- Playgroups are special in that they share some common structure but each playgroup is unique.
- The playgroup members themselves collectively decide what functions and events they want, so each playgroup is tailored to meet the needs of its members.
- All playgroup members have a say and the opportunity to enrich their playgroup by participating! Some events playgroups may have are park days, Mom's Night Out, Family Events, Hobby Nights, walks, community service projects, weekend potlucks, sit and plays, babysitting co-ops, and the list goes on!
Clubs
- The playgroups within each year form a Club.
- So, if your child was born in 2009 and you live in Sunnyvale, you would join the Club 2009, Sunnyvale playgroup.
- The exception is our Working Moms group, which is organized by year, but not divided into geographic regions.
- All Clubs are governed by their own Board of Directors.
Trial Membership
In order to see what a playgroup has to offer, Las Madres has trial memberships that can allow you to sample what a playgroup is like. For more information, read our Trial Membership Info page .
